books-to-life

Confidence and self-esteem are deeply rooted from the early stages of childhood development. Unfortunately, many parents and children fall victim to the ugly realities of child abuse. Damaged Goods, a book of memoirs and poetry, explores this reality.

From childhood abuse, promiscuity, and self-hate the author recovers from these damages. She blossoms into a loving and confident christian woman, looking back at life's traumas, finding closure and peace.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH BANQUET

domv

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Double Dap Books will be making a difference as we support the rights of individuals to live in peace and harmony by holding our First Annual Double Dap Books Banquet for National Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month on October 29th and 30th 2010.

All forms of oppression and violent  behaviors towards all people, families as well as communities must be eliminated. Our mission is to educate the masses with regards to abuse and misuse of young children. We begin by reaching out to mothers and care givers alike to form strong bonds and build even stronger foundations for Women and Children by fostering public awareness as well as providing resources.   As the old adage goes, "It Takes a Village to Raise a Child” and “No man is an Island”.

Double Dap Books is giving all proceeds to the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children located in Atlanta, GA.

The Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Banquet is a two day event featuring Guest Speakers, Entertainment and Great “Down Home” Southern Cuisine catered by one of Atlanta's finest catering companies Off The Hook Catering!

Banquet Tickets for the Double Dap Domestic Violence Awareness & Prevention Extravaganza is $40 and it covers both events on Friday and Saturday October 29th and 30th 2010.

About Us

sam-14Double Dap Books is brand new.  We opened our doors in June 2009 and are eager to publish new authors.  We are family owned and understand the difficulty in obtaining literary agents and are well aware of the high cost of self publishing.  With today's economy, it is important to offer minimal cost to our authors with great rewards.  We are waiting to bring your manuscript to life!

Stand Up

If you or anyone you know is suffering from abuse, know that you are not alone. Resources have been implemented to assist you or your loved ones. I have included helpful resource links below. This is not a substitute for your own personal counseling, but a place to begin:
